My name is Dearbhla - and quite difficult for some people to say so I had told people to call me Derv. One day, having a couple of drinks in the old bar I told a particularly sad tale of a disastrous date (they loved hearing them and I had plenty to share) a friend exclaimed, 'Ah Derv!' and this rapidly progressed to Nibbles, as they felt replacing my difficult Irish name with an equally difficult French name would be nonsensical to say the least.
And so it remains in my memory as a fond reflection on quick Cork wit and never-ending affection for some good friends which is why I felt inspired when choosing a name for my blog.
Why a blog? Well I like writing and I love talking, and having enjoyed a friend's recent foray into the blogosphere decided to follow suit. Like John, I'm going to try and schedule times for updating my blog, sharing with you random musings on all sorts of banality and perhaps will come close to entertaining people *I'm setting the bar low for this in fairness*
So this is my little project. I hope it finds you well.
